This was inspired by looking at the many still life paintings of Cezanne , in his compositional abundance, fabrics and rich color, he brought his subjects to active life !

Color! The richness and variety of the orange in the kettle, fabric and flowers are complimented by the blue green of the foliage. To my eye this is irresistible!

Changing the Scope and Intention of this Blog
When I began this blog in April 2010, I envisioned it to be a way to show the small studies I was painting almost daily, my visual version of a journal.
Now because it is the process of painting that engages me and not just it's format, I am going to include in the blog, larger watercolors.
